I completely agree

When i read that ruse wanted to work in a church, i was a bit suprised because it is hard to believe that in times of such destruction and harship, i dont think I would be able to even believe in god, let alone work in a church.

That’s exactly what I was thinking (even if that seems wrong). But I mean how can one believe in God so strongly even though it seems like you’ve been dealt a bad hand of life? I wouldn’t understand why I had to live in poverty while others had more luxuries than they know what to do with. Does the novel speak about this at all?

So far, no. Ruse doesnt really ever adress that his life was less than adequit-I think as an author he tries to keep that on the low, because no matter how bad he has it, he doesnt know if there is anyone reading the book who has had it worse, you know?
